Cross Trainers
Cross
trainers
is an Awana program oriented
towards children living in community housing
developments within the inner-city.
During this time, children play games, sing
songs, read the Bible and have a nutritious
snack.

Cross-trainers meets every 3rd
Saturday of the month during the school
year.

Project
Hope
An Education
Outreach Ministry located in East Austin, HOPE serves economically disadvantaged
families who have children that are struggling academically.

HOPE provides
parental support as well as tutoring, character and child behavior remediation
services. HOPE is a project of Mission Possible, funded by A Glimmer of
HOPE Foundation. For more

Christian Women's Job Corps (CWJC)
The
CWJC is an effort to aid women in need of employment. This program includes
six months of woman-to-woman mentoring, small group Bible study, basic computer training,
life skills training (budgeting, health care, nutrition, communication, etc.), and work
search skills training for each woman in the program.

Our
next 9 week classroom session begins January 31, 2005 at the New York
Avenue Community Center. Classroom hours are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Community Preservation Alliance (C.P.A.)
CPA is a non-profit community organization whose purpose is to assist residents in basic home repairs such as plumbing, painting and carpentry at no cost to you!

you this service in order to improve and beautify the Central East Austin community and build relationships with its
residents

Every Summer, Mission Possible takes 100-150 kids
to Rosebud, TX for an incredible week of fellowship and Christian camp
activities. The spiritual growth of the kids and their high school
counselors during their time at camp is awe inspiring. To learn more

A weekend of urban street, children's
and community ministry aimed at expanding and challenging the concept of home
missions for visiting ministry groups.

Volunteer
Guidelines
Relationships
Volunteers
are encouraged to maintain a high standard of integrity and professionalism when
relating with Program Participants* (as defined below).
Volunteers
are not to spend time alone with one Program Participant. Volunteers should
always be in sight of others.
Volunteers
are not to initiate or allow anyone to have physical contact with community
members without staff advisement and the permission of the Program Participant.
Information
Volunteers
are asked not to share personal details such as home address or phone number
with Program Participants.
All
personal information about Program Participants is strictly confidential except
when he/she shares information about matters with legal consequences such as
someone being in danger or endangering others. In this case, volunteers
must report the information to the staff person in charge.
Conduct
Our
programs are violence-free and drug-free environments. Volunteers are not to
smoke, drink, use drugs or carry any type of weapons on site.
Volunteers
are to engage in gracious and edifying conversation. Volunteers do not swear.
As
MISSION: POSSIBLE! is a faith-based organization, volunteers are asked not to
present or promote a worldview that is in opposition to the Judeo-Christian
worldview that is the very fabric
of our ministries.
Harassment
of any kind is not permitted and is subject to disciplinary action by MISSION:
POSSIBLE!
MISSION:
POSSIBLE! is not responsible for the personal property of volunteers.
Volunteers
are not to engage in a private transaction involving gifts, services or money
with any Program Participant. Any gifts should be directed to or channeled
through the organization.
Volunteers
may not accept money or gifts from Program Participants
for services rendered.
Dress
Code
Volunteers
must wear clothing that is deemed modest by staff. Please do not wear
midriff-revealing tops, short shorts, muscle shirts or anything tight-fitting.
Closed
toed shoes must be worn for safety reasons.
Clothing
worn by volunteers must not portray alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, and sexual or
violent themes.
Outside
Activities
Volunteers
are not authorized to identify themselves with the MISSION: POSSIBLE!, or
attempt to use their position to gain credibility for political purposes or
illicit personal gain.
Volunteers
agree to indemnify MISSION: POSSIBLE! and/or any or its separate entities
against all claims, demands, judgments, and executions that the MISSION:
POSSIBLE! and/or its staff may sustain arising from my volunteer actions,
whether or not such claims, demands, judgments, and executions are discovered
during my volunteer work.
*
Program Participants are defined as any person who benefits from any ministries
of MISSION: POSSIBLE! as a
participant in any program.
